BACHELOR OF SCIENCE
- 18 years old and above.
- A completed application form with all pertinent attachments and a application fee of CHF. 100.-
- A completed study plan form, dated and signed.
- An official copy of Baccalauréat, Maturité, Abitur, A-levels, accredited International High School Diploma with SATs, university degree or equivalent. The above must show all courses completed and the grades received.
- For those who have studied outside Switzerland or the European Union:
5.1. Complete information on the school or college with an explanation of the grading system in English or French.
5.2 Letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counsellor.
- If English is not your mother tongue, or if you have not spent at least three years in an English speaking school, please enclose a copy of one of the following:
6.1 TOEFL: minimum score of 500 points for the paper based test, 173 points for the computer based test and 61 on the internet-based test. The TOEFL testing code number for Les Roches is 9827.
6.2 Cambridge First Certificate: Grade C.
6.3 I.E.L.T.S. minimum overall band of 5.0.
6.4 If you do not meet the above English language requirements, you have the possibility of registering on our Intensive English language programme to acquire the entry English level.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This four-year program consist of a preparatory year followed by 3 years of studies divided into terms of 10 weeks. Each term will work towards the study of core business from operations to strategic issues with specialized courses in Food and Beverage. The program also includes 2 semesters of professional experience through internships in the industry.
Preparatory Year – Introductory Skills and Personal Development
In the first Semester of the preparatory year, students will develop operational skills within Food Service and Food Production through craft-based learning so they are prepared for their first internship. Students will also improve their English communication and have an introduction to identifying the need for Personal and Professional Development throughout the program.
Year 1 - Principles of the Food Services Business
In the first term of the BSc Food Services Management, students will experience a range of general education courses, and the introductory courses for core business areas including Finance and Organizational Behavior. They will also study the first Food and Beverage Operations course, a core theme which is developed throughout the degree. Students will be involved in developing study skills to assist them studying at degree level. Students will then deepen their understanding of core business courses in Finance and Organizational Behavior, and an introduction to Marketing. Students will continue with the theme of Operations and develop their leadership skills within the Food and Beverage Environment. The program will advance the students knowledge of Food Technology and require development of problem solving skills.
Internship
In the beginning of the second year students will undertake an internship of 6 months in a Food and Beverage related company. This internship will enable students to build upon their operational skills from the Freshman Year.
Year 2 - Planning and Developing the Food Services Business
The students will investigate the systems available to the Food and Beverage Industry and how the advances in technology can lead to competitive advantage in this dynamic environment. Students will consider a more strategic approach to core business areas of marketing, finance and systems. The Operations courses will require students to use critical thinking and problem solving in a leadership context. Students will progress their research skills to assist them with their dissertation.
Year 3 - Leadership and Marketing of the Food Services Business
In the final year of the BSc in Food Services Management, students will be required to use the range of graduate skills, autonomy and knowledge developed within the program to complete a dissertation. Within the Operations course students will demonstrate the management skills and innovation required to open a ‘virtual’ F & B Operation.
