- The two-year EMBA program develops and expands participants - problem-solving and decision-making skills essential to successful leadership in business. The curriculum covers all the major areas of general business administration.
The first year focuses on management basics giving participants the tools and concepts necessary to study business issues from a managerial perspective. Quantitative Analysis, Managerial Economics, the Legal Environment of Business and Accounting for Managers.are among some of the courses taught. Participants also begin to explore functional areas of business such as Finance and Marketing.
At the beginning of the second year, theoretical concepts are emphasized and consolidated in the framework of a total learning experience based on a Management Simulation Game. Then, participants are given an overview of the main concepts, principles and challenges of general management in an international setting. The presentation of the functional areas of business continues in the Second Year. Courses then focus on the global management dimension. Finally, the concepts specific to international business are introduced.
The Functional Management part of the program is dedicated to the study of the various corporate functions and familiarizes participants with the technical concepts related to the functional areas. With its strong emphasis on problem-solving, the General Management section provides a global view of business administration while the International Business courses help participants improve their ability to apply the principles and techniques of management in an international setting.
During the second year, participants work on a consulting project that is practical and strategically relevant to an organization or enterprise. The project may reflect either the multidisciplinary approach embodied in the MBA curriculum or else focus on one of the numerous aspects of business administration. This depends on whether participants wish to expand the skills that are necessary to act effectively in a global context or if they prefer to gain deeper experience in a single area of corporate management. The students are strongly encouraged to select a project with a strong international dimension. Projects include a final written report. Participants have an academic supervisor to ensure guidance and advice in the course of their project.
Final assessment of participants is based both on group work and an individual examination that takes into account the participants knowledge of the subject, their skills in analysis and synthesis as well as their personal contribution to group work. As for the management simulation games and consulting projects, the assessment is group- or project-based with self-selected teams working together. The assessment also includes individual written examinations at the end of each stage of the program.
