- The European Business Realities Program (Master's degree) aims to provide students with a comprehensive, in-depth approach to the main fields in Management as they face up to Europe and its realities. On successful completion of this program, students should have enhanced their skills relative to what is Europe from a bottom-up perspective and be in a position to provide adapted answers for a variety of different actors (employees, consumers, companies, public institutions ...) that live Europe as a reality.
The construction of Europe is affecting managerial practise in areas such as consumption, creation of jobs and the way of conducting business. The heads of companies and their managers are therefore confronted with recurring issues, frequently related to the dilemma between standardisation vs differentiation on a regional, national and above all European level with all the diversity that such a level represents. The European Business Realities (EBR) Program was born during a think-tank meeting held at the Lyon3 business school comprised of both academics and practitioners, on the development of courses with an international dimension.
The EBR program therefore allows our future managers, acting on an international level, to understand and grow in the evolving European environment. This is an advantage for those involved in International commerce on a European an worldwide scale as well as managers of companies involved in international business no matter what their size, sector of activity or their localisation may be. The EBR program thus aims at developing not only technical managerial competences but also the comprehensive competences of the European environment in its present evolving state along with all its challenges and dynamics. The EBR program leads to a Graduate Degree in Management preparing participants for leadership roles in the emerging global economy with the understanding of major European questions.
The European Business Realities program is:Creative: the program has been designed in questioning Business from European perspectives.
- Research-focused: each subject is taught by academics highly involved in the issues addressed to students throughout their research activities.
- Truly European:
- Professors and guest-speakers of well-known European Universities,
- strong European content in Business and Management topics,
- an international student body.
- Flexible: the program may be started either in September (Term 1 or Term 3) or in January (Term 2).
The EBR program is attractive for non-European students, responding to the questions frequently put forward concerning the role of the European environment in the business world. The development of the program should also be traced back to the long history of international relations with the university, possessing more than 350 partner institutions in more than 65 countries worldwide. The growing number of the university's non-European partners has lead to the development of programs in the academic field of business combined with a deeper understanding of the European environment. Since its origin numerous American, Australian and Asian students on university exchange programs have followed certain of the EBR courses.
